Below are the assignment information and instructions for each question along with it, I've attatched the data needed in order to do the assignemnt among the three states its based on which are NJ, NY, and PA. Part 1 is to be done on an excel file and Part 2 is to be done a a google data studio report using google's "data stuido". So two seperate files to be completed as a whole for the assignment. This homework is designed to test your knowledge on data visualization using Google Sheet and Google Data Studio. You should use the COVID-19 data downloaded in HW1. Please use the COVID-19 data from 3 states (NJ, NY, PA) in 2021 to finish the following tasks I recommend you to filter the data using Google Sheet/Excel and create a subset of data in a new spreadsheet with only three states' data in 2021. Part 1: Visualization using Google Sheet [40pt - 10pt for each question] All questions in this part should be done in Google Sheet/Excel. Create a bar/column chart showing the trend of daily confirmed cases in three-state area over time. (Hint: There should be one bar per day. The heigh of the bar is the total number of confirmed cases in all three state. Since the data is from 2021, you should have 365 bars in total. Be sure to check the order of "date" axis. ) Create a line chart to show the trend of daily confirmed cases in three-state area over time (same as question 1, but using line chart, or you can add a line to the previous bar chart). Create a bar/column chart showing the average confirmed cases by state. The chart should have 3 bars - one bar for one state. (Hint: you can use pivot table to summarize the data and make the chart) Using the charts you made above, please compare the condition in NJ with other two states. Did NJ do better or worse than NY and PA? Do you think these charts are enough to support your conclusion? If no, why not? Part 2: Basic Google Data Studio Report [60pt - 10pt for Q3 and each item in Q4, 20pt for others] All questions in this part should be done in Google Data Studio. In this task, please create a data report describing the 2021 COVID-19 situation in three-state area (NJ, NY, PA). You will use the same three-state data as part 1 in this task. Add a title to the data report Add a text block explaining what the report is about. Add a pivot table showing average daily new confirmed cases by state by month. The table should include 12 rows (from Janurary to December), and four columns (month, NY number, NJ number, PA number). You can add a month column in the spreadsheet before loading it into Google Data Studio. Add three charts (similar to part 1): Create a barchart showing the trend of daily confirmed cases in three-state area over time. This chart should look the same as the first chart in part 1. A bar chart showing 2021 average daily new confirmed and average daily death by state. In the chart, x-axis should be the state name (three states in total), and each state should have 2 bars - one for confirmed cases and one for death cases. The y-axis should be the average number. A line chart with three lines showing the trend of confirmed cases over time. Each line should show the trend of a single state. One text block explaining your finding by answering the question " whether NJ had better performance than other two states". Please add proper title, axis labels, annotations on the charts and tables to make them clear.
