You could BELIEVE you are writing in a manner that should earn full credit, but you may not be. The other columns in the rubric have been written to account for common mistakes of former students. You can earn up to 50 points - and these will be reflected in the rubric. However, you can also LOSE points. Deductions will be made if the additional instructions below are not followed. Additional instructions Cite your sources within the text. Anything that is not your original idea needs to be cited, NOT just direct quotes. Include an APA formatted reference page Double-space your work, use multiple paragraphs, and indent your paragraphs a full half inch Use college-level writing with proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax Avoid the use of "you" (in any form) Avoid the use of contractions (like "can't" instead of "cannot").
