Film ANALYSIS | Sociological issues can be seen in various capacities. The purpose of this assignment is for you to further develop your ‘Sociological Imagination’ and critical thinking skills by applying what you have learned in class to the world around you. You will write about the breakfast club. You will notice that there are several steps to this assignment. For this part of the assignment, Complete the following steps: Select 2 potential movie/tv series you wish to analyze from a sociological lens. List and define 3 or more sociological concepts that you will be connecting to your film. Essentially, what drew you to analyzing For example, if you're going to talk about DISCRIMINATION in the film, Zootopia, how would you write about it in relation to the film (where is it seen? In what way?). These central concepts will typically be the center of each of your body paragraphs. publish an Introduction for both potential films/series you selected. aim to hook the reader's attention in the first few sentences by explaining, in an interesting way, the media you will be analyzing. An introduction should only include some background information on the film/series that enthralls the reader but more importantly provides the reader with your sociological lens. REMEMBER Your final reflection paper will be 3 to 5 pages, double-spaced. The quality of your sociological analysis will be reflected in your grade. Your introduction paragraph should give the reader a glimpse into the overall nature of the movie, what are the main messages being transmitted, how it is relevant to sociology, and then a final sentence laying out what sociological concepts/themes you will analyze more deeply in the body paragraphs.
