Learning Goal: I'm working on a marketing question and need support to help me learn. First of all, it is very important to remark this is a project that we'll complete together. You won't be alone on this, you will basically be my teammate. All the sections that say 'in class' are of course on me. This project will be based on the Fremont, Nebraska, U.S. - Fremont Family YMCA: After touring the facility (you won't be able to do that but here you have their website link: https://www.fremontfamilyymca.org). Please make sure to fully review all sections/details in that website. Consider opportunities to create cost savings, avoidance, additional sponsors and creative revenues for the Fremont YMCA. 2 Deliverables are required to obtain all of the points for this assignment: Part 1: Work with a partner to make 4 significant, detailed recommendations in class. Try to come up with one idea for each of the above categories: 1. Cost Savings, 2. Cost Avoidance, 3. Additional Sponsors, 4. Creative Revenue Stream(s). We will combine these ideas during a class brainstorm session. You do not have to hand this part in. Deliverable by 11 am Monday Sept 26th a Word Document as follows: Volunteer to work with a partner on one of these projects after brainstorming and sharing in class. Use the Six Sigma DMAIC illustration or Deming Cycle PDCA illustration, both continuous improvement models found under "FILES", to expand upon your recommendation. Discuss your Word document and your team's progress on Monday Sept. 26th with the instructor in small groups explaining the written overview of your project. Address each of the steps in your selected continuous improvement model briefly. Part 2: Monday, Sept 26th during class beginning creating a Powerpoint Presentation of your proposal. Title slide should include the title of your solution and your names. Include the illustration of the continuous improvement model DMAIC or PDCA which you chose, then use one slide per step of the model thereafter to present your proposal in detail. Include advantages to implementing your proposal where it's logical to do so. Deliverable by 11 am Sept. 28th: Teams should plan to present their final Powerpoint proposals Sept.28th to the class in final project form. HERE ARE THE SPECIFIC STEPS YOU SHOULD FOLLOW TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE IT: Step 1: Review the 2 Continuous Improvement Models under "Files". Decide which one of the two, DMAIC or PDCA, fits your project steps best? (NOTE: I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE REQUIRED SUPPORTING MATERIAL) Step 2: Look at the architectural drawing and the summary of the tour challenges related to the under use of YMCA space utilization to come up with ideas of how to increase usage and/or repurpose space for a different use. (NOTE: I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE REQUIRED SUPPORTING MATERIAL) Step 3: Develop your first idea you discussed with me in class, expanding Pickleball courts, following the Continuous Improvement Model Steps. Write down the steps and your detailed process of what you are doing for each step in a Word Document to be submitted by Monday Sept 26th 11am into Canvas and plan to discuss it with me privately during class. (NOTE: I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE REQUIRED SUPPORTING MATERIAL) Step 4: Come up with a couple of other ideas to increase/improve their use of space at the YMCA. You don't have to develop all of these ideas, just a few to present to the YMCA CEO.
